These Members signed the License agreement with License Holder
The corner stone of the AMURT organization was laid in Switzerland in 1985. Registered as a foundation in 1993, its aims and objectives are exclusively charitable and non-profit based. The Foundation AMURT is registered with and supervised by the Swiss Federal Supervisory Board for Foundations.

Then in 2002, AMURT (International) Switzerland was founded as an umbrella association by the Foundation AMURT (Switzerland) and later local organizations from Austria, Belgium, USA, Japan and Canada joined as members. As the trade mark holder, the Foundation AMURT (Switzerland) concluded a master License agreement with AMURT (International) Switzerland, who was granted a right to grant sub-licenses to local organisations.

In May 2010, the master License agreement with AMURT (Switzerland) and AMURT (International) Switzerland was cancelled by Licensor, Foundation AMURT (Switzerland). Respective sub-license agreements between AMURT (International) Switzerland and AMURT (Austria), AMURT (Japan), AMURT (Belgium) and AMURT USA NFP were cancelled as a consequence.

Subsequently, new license agreements were signed by AMURT USA NFP, AMURT (Canada), AMURT (International) South Sudan, AMURT (International) Kenya, AMURT (International) Italy and AMURT (International) Netherlands directly with Foundation AMURT (Switzerland) as the trade mark owner.

The goal of the newly constituted members of AMURT is to improve the quality of our services to people in need, exchange knowledge and experience, as well as enhance the opportunity to broaden and deepen our support to underprivileged and vulnerable people throughout the world by reducing our administrative costs.

The AMURT body, with its new members, functions as a democratic organisation; all members work together to reduce poverty in the world.
