In 1993, AMURT took over the administration of the secondary school in Sakraili that was originally initiated by Mr. Sri Mannalal Sah – the father of Mr. Bhola Sah. The secondary school offers classes from Standard 6 to Standard 10. Presently 170 students are enrolled and 8 teachers are employed.

The primary school, which is enjoined with the secondary school, was constructed in 2005 by AMURT and continues to offer education from Standard 1 to Standard 5. Presently 205 students are enrolled and 10 teachers are employed.

Activities in 2010

In the beginning of 2009 we have purchased a small bus that holds space for 20 students. In 2010 an additional bus has been hired so that more children could attend school. Many children of the surrounding villages cannot attend school as they would spend hours walking the long distance from their home to the school.

Outlook

The project is scheduled to continue with the 2010 activities in 2011 and further initiate acquisation of a new bus, if funds are made available.
